On May 29, 2025, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held its latest Express Entry draw, marking the first selection round under Canada’s new Immigration Minister. A total of 277 candidates received Invitations to Apply (ITAs) under the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) stream.

To qualify, candidates needed a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 726 and must have submitted their Express Entry profile before September 24, 2024, at 3:46 p.m. UTC. This draw reflects Canada’s continued focus on selecting highly skilled individuals with ties to specific provinces, supporting regional economic growth while addressing pressing labour shortages.

Draw Type Number
Provincial Nominee Program 9
Canadian Experience Class 4
French-language Proficiency 3
Healthcare & Social Services 1
Education Category 1

This data shows that PNP candidates remain the most invited group, followed by Canadian Experience Class (CEC) applicants and category-based selections focused on healthcare, education, and language proficiency.

What Makes the CRS Score So Important?

The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) continues to be the foundation of Express Entry. Candidates are scored based on age, education, work experience, and language ability. The higher the CRS score, the greater the chances of being invited.

The system is built on decades of Canadian research, aiming to select newcomers most likely to thrive in the country’s labour market. According to a recent IRCC report, immigrants admitted through Express Entry have shown high employment rates, strong earnings, and low unemployment—a direct result of CRS-based selection.

Why Provincial Nominee Program Draws Matter

The latest Express Entry draw demonstrates Canada’s growing reliance on the PNP stream, which allows provinces to nominate individuals who meet their economic and labour needs. These candidates are more likely to settle permanently, contribute to local industries, and address region-specific skill shortages.

As Canada continues to evolve its immigration strategies under new leadership, the Express Entry system remains at the heart of its skilled immigration agenda.

Canada Express Entry Next Draw Prediction 2025

The most recent Express Entry draw took place on June 2, 2025. Based on historical trends, the Express Entry next draw is anticipated on June 3, 2025. While Express Entry rounds are generally held every two weeks—often on Wednesdays—the actual schedule, CRS score cut-offs, and number of invitations depend on several key factors. These include the current state of Canada’s labor market, the pace of economic growth, and the federal immigration targets outlined in the Canada Immigration Levels Plan 2025–2027. As such, draw dates and thresholds can shift according to IRCC’s evolving priorities and application inventory.
